Multi-Cultural Day

Posted December 20, 2014

January 23rd, 2014 will be a P.A. Day for the students at our school. However, teachers have recognized this as a prime time learning experience for children. All grades require a unit of study on world culture and geography.

Students are asked to come in for Jummah Salah, and then venture in the basement for a tour of the World.

Students must first stop by the VISA station and acquire their play passport, then visit every country to learn about their culture, their food, the architect and of course the Muslims of the region. Once they have answered the questions on their questionnaire sheets, they will be awarded a flag sticker of that country in their passports.

After all the fun learning, children will indulge in a food of the world party. Parents of the students are asked kindly to send in a dish from your heritage, and dress your child in clothing from your culture.

This event is open to the community. However, since this is a learning experience for the children at our school, certain aspects of the program will only be open to students of Brock Elementary School

Dear Parents,

Assalamualaikum,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our valuable volunteers who have been working tiresly to enhance our school’s program successfully. We want to thank Sr. Ambreen who works very closely with me towards completion of our mobile library. Our special thanks also goes to Sr. Madeeha for donating over 100 books to our Bock Elementary School’s library and wrote a wonderful testimonial letter about our program that you’ll be able to access on our website very soon Insha’Allah. We thank Sr. Roza who was working with me to create a Math Lab to benefit all students from grade 1-5 Insha’Allah. Our special appreciation goes to Sr. Georgia Lee who visit every Tuesday to our Kindergarten class for “Story Reading” that students enjoy and look forward to it every week. We also want to thank Dr. Samina Khan for setting up one-day eye clinic for our Kindergarten students to have initial eye check up.
